Overview

WolfStack’s home view (Datacenter) is a fully customisable, per-user widget dashboard. Out of the box it looks exactly like the classic home — infrastructure map, bookmarks, cluster stats and the server grid — but hit Customise and every part of it becomes a widget you can add, remove, drag to reorder, resize, and configure. Twenty widget types cover your infrastructure and your morning coffee: live metrics next to the weather, uptime monitors next to your RSS feeds.

Layouts are personal: each user’s dashboard is saved to their account server-side, so it follows them across browsers and machines. Custom background images are supported too.

Editing

  • Customise / Done — edit mode works on a draft: nothing persists until you press Save changes, and Cancel throws the draft away. Navigating away with unsaved changes prompts Save / Discard / Keep editing.
  • Drag to reorder, resize from 1 to 12 grid columns wide, and set height as a pixel value or auto (content-sized; widgets scroll internally when they overflow).
  • Per-widget settings (⚙) — every widget has a config dialog: which server, which cluster scope, feed URLs, timezones, and so on.
  • Fleet scopes — infrastructure widgets (containers, uptime, alerts, backups, storage, certificates, threat intel) can show this cluster, a specific cluster, or the whole fleet, aggregated live across nodes.

Infrastructure

  • 🖥️ Servers — every server grouped by cluster; grid, server-room or tiny layout.
  • 📊 Cluster stats — totals for servers, online/offline and installed components.
  • 🗺️ Infrastructure map — your servers on a world map, linked by cluster.
  • 📈 Server resources — live CPU, memory and disk gauges for one server (add one per server you care about).
  • 📦 Containers — Docker and LXC containers across the cluster.
  • 🟢 Uptime monitors — status-page monitors with uptime percentage and latency.
  • 🔔 Recent alerts — the latest threshold and security alerts.
  • 💾 Recent backups — latest backup jobs and whether they succeeded.
  • 🗄️ Storage usage — disk usage bars across this cluster or the fleet.
  • 🔒 TLS certificates — certificates with days until expiry, this node or the fleet.
  • 🔋 UPS power — a server’s UPS as a live front panel: battery, runtime, load segments (see UPS Power).
  • 🛡️ Threat intel — blocked-IP counts and enforcement state, cluster or fleet.
  • 🤖 AI assistant — assistant status, alerts raised and pending actions.

Start-page

  • 🔖 Bookmarks — your saved links, one click from home.
  • 🕐 Clock — time and date, with optional extra timezones.
  • ⛅ Weather — current conditions and today’s range for your location (Open-Meteo, no API key needed).
  • 🔍 Web search — a search bar for DuckDuckGo, Google, Brave or your own engine, with inline instant answers.
  • 📝 Notes — a scratchpad that follows your account everywhere.
  • 📰 RSS feed — headlines from any RSS or Atom feed (fetched through a safe server-side proxy, so LAN-hosted feeds work too).
  • 🖼️ Embedded page — embed any page that allows framing: Grafana panels, wikis, other dashboards.

With bookmarks, search, weather, RSS and embeds on the same grid as your real infrastructure state, the WolfStack home page can replace a separate start-page app (Homarr, Heimdall, homepage) — except this one also knows when a backup failed or a UPS went on battery.

Notes

  • Layouts are stored per user under /etc/wolfstack/user-prefs/ on the node and synced to the browser — log in elsewhere and your dashboard comes with you.
  • The default layout is identical to the classic home, so upgrading changes nothing until you choose to customise.
  • External fetches (weather, RSS) go direct from your browser when the source allows it, with a server-side proxy fallback that only accepts http(s) and refuses link-local/metadata addresses.
